Al vroeg in de 20ste eeuw onderzochten Thomas & Znaniecki de blijvende banden tussen migranten en hun thuisbasis. Terwijl deze ‘transnationale toestand’ de voorbije eeuw kenmerkend werd voor onze stedelijke geografieën, stellen we vast dat beleid en berichtgeving dergelijke schaaloverschrijdende processen al te vaak ongenuanceerd tegemoet treden. Een onderzoeksagenda als mogelijk antidotum.Referenties
