Women as Change Agents in the World’s Rangelands

Abstract


The Society for Range Management has bene tted from an increase in the number of women mem- bers in recent decades. This re ects the growing in uence of women in the range profession as well as in allied  elds in the United States. Women have also been making progress in rangelands and farming systems around the world. Some of the most notable examples involve collec- tive action, a process by which poor women organize them- selves to improve their livelihoods via innovations in resource management, small business, and education.
