Forb Nutrient Density for Sage Grouse Broods in Mountain Big Sagebrush Communities, Montana

William Whitehurst, Clayton Marlow

Abstract

Over the past century a general consensus has ex- isted that sage grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus) numbers have been in decline. Although system- atic counts of sage grouse did not begin until the 1950s, anecdotal records and observation suggest apparent declines in the 1800s, again in the 1920s–1930, and again in the 1970s.
