Employee Management on Large Ranches

Abstract

Managing a large ranch means not only manag- ing land, livestock, and natural resources but managing human resources as well. Knowl- edge of ranch employee management is as important for the success of larger ranches as understanding cattle markets and production. However, while there are nu- merous books and research reports on the subject of employee management, including management of employees in agri- culture, there has never been a study of employee manage- ment practices on ranches.
