Gems of Oklahoma
Abstract
From the shortgrass prairies in the panhandle to the oak–hickory forests of the east, Oklahoma is one of the most biologically diverse states in the United States. Oklahoma’s native grasslands include short, mixed, and tallgrass prairies, along with oak and pine savan- nahs. The technical tours during the 2013 International So- ciety for Range Management meeting will showcase some of the gems that Oklahoma has to offer, including remnants of the past where the land has never been touched by the plow and bison still roam the prairie.
