GENITAL LYMPHEDEMA: A NEW TECHNIQUE OF CORRECTION SURGERY

Abstract

Genital lymphedema is a commonproblem seen by lymphology surgeons in Indiadue to filarial infections. We have developedan innovative operative technique to correctthis issue using native skin and have foundthe results in the first fifteen patients to beencouraging. Gross debulking proceduresreduced the size and using native skin alloweda better cosmetic appearance. The patientsalso reported almost normal sensation andgood sexual function. This technique deservesfurther testing with more patients and atadditional centers.
