CHYLOPERICARDIUM: A CASE REPORT DEMONSTRATING UTILITY OF LYMPHOGRAPHY COMBINED WITH 3D COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY FOR CORRECTIVE SURGICAL TREATMENT USING VATS
Abstract
We present a case of a 58 year-old womanwith primary chylopericardium associated withchylothorax. Chylopericardium is a conditionin which chylous fluid containing a high concentrationof triglycerides accumulates in thepericardial cavity, and it can form for manydifferent reasons. 3D computed tomographywith lymphography precisely depicted thespecific location of the lymphatic leak in thispatient, which was successfully repaired usingtargeted video assisted thoracic surgery(VATS).
