OCULAR LYMPHATICS: STATE-OF-THE-ART REVIEW

Abstract

Research involving the lymphatic systemhas experienced an exponential progressionduring the past decade largely because ofadvancement of modern technology anddiscovery of several lymphatic specific molecules.The eye provides an excellent site forlymphatic studies due to its accessiblelocation and the unique feature of tissueheterogeneity – while some tissues arelymphatic-rich, others are lymphatic-free or-inducible. This review provides an update onour current understanding of ocular lymphaticsand possible associated eye diseases.
